Empire State Building
The Empire State Building was built in 1929 and opened on May 1, 1931. At the time it was the tallest building in the world--standing at 1,250 feet tall. They say the building was not only an icon but proof of man wanting to overcome the impossible of the 1920's. The most visited floors are the 106th and the 86th (observation deck). The Woolworth Building was built in 1913, but wasn't nearly as tall as the Empire.
